Warehouses and Locations

Warehouses and locations are used for the storage of inventories. Inventories are assigned to locations that belong to a structure. This whole structure makes it easy to find inventories and make more complete reports.

Create/Edit a Warehouse #

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
   
2. Click the + button in the top left to create a new warehouse, or click the desired warehouse to view its information.
   
3. Enter the requested information.
4. To add or change the address, click the edit button on the right.
   
5. Once done, you can leave the page. The information in this window is saved automatically.

Create/Edit a Structure Element (zone, aisle, bay, level) #

The structure is used to organize locations. All the elements are found in this hierarchy :

• Warehouse
  •  Zone
    • Aisle
      • Bay
        • Level

Note: it is not mandatory to have all levels of the hierarchy. A location can be created under any element of the structure.

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
2. Click on the desired warehouse to view its information.
3. In the Structure section, click the + button  in the top left to create a new structure element, or click the desired element.
   
4. Enter the requested information.
5. Once done, you can leave the page. The information in this window is saved automatically.

Create/Edit a Location #

A location can be created under any element of the structure.

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
2. Click on the desired warehouse to view its information.
3. In the Location section, click the + button in the top left to create a new location or click the desired location.
   
4. Enter the requested information, and then click Create/Modify.

Create Structure and Locations in Batch #

Batch creation allows you to determine the elements of the structure and create the locations at the same time. You can specify the desired amount of each level of the hierarchy, and then let ALIX create the entire structure for you.

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
2. Click on the desired warehouse to view its information.
3. In the Location section, click the Generate button in the top left.
   
4. Enter the requested information, and then click Create.
   

Delete a Warehouse #

Il est possible de supprimer un entrepôt seulement si aucune localisation sous sa structure n’est utilisée.

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
2. Click on the desired warehouse to view its information.
3. Click on the – button at the top left.
   

Delete a Structure Element #

It is possible to delete an element only if no location under its structure is used.

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
2. Click on the desired warehouse to view its information.
3. In the Structure section, click the structure wanted.
4. Click on the – button at the top left.
   

Delete a Location #

It is possible to delete a location only if it is not in use.

1. In Settings, go to the Warehouses section.
2. Click on the desired warehouse to view its information.
3. In the Location section, select the location wanted.
4. Click on the – button at the top left.
