Add a payment term<\/h2>\n

Note<\/strong>: it is impossible to create a payment term directly in ALIX if the Zoho Books integration is enabled. In that case, payment terms are managed in Zoho Books, then synced to ALIX. For more information, see the\u00a0Zoho Books integration<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

  1. In\u00a0Settings<\/strong>, go to the\u00a0Accounting<\/strong>\u00a0section, then\u00a0Payment terms<\/strong>.

  2. Click\u00a0Create a payment term<\/strong>\u00a0in the top right.<\/li>\n
  3. Enter the requested information, with these clarifications:\n
      \n
    1. Name<\/strong>: name of the term as it will appear in lists and on invoices.<\/li>\n
    2. Days<\/strong>: number of days used to calculate the due date.<\/li>\n
    3. Default<\/strong>: activate this toggle so that this term is applied automatically to new contacts and new vendor bills. See the\u00a0Set the default term<\/a> section below.

    4. Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0in the top right when you have finished.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Delete a payment term<\/h2>\n

        Note<\/strong>: it is impossible to delete a payment term used by a contact, a customer invoice or a vendor bill. The term must first be removed from all entities that reference it. It is also impossible to delete the payment term marked\u00a0Default<\/strong>. For more information, see the\u00a0Set the default term<\/a>\u00a0section below.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

        1. In\u00a0Settings<\/strong>, go to the\u00a0Accounting<\/strong>\u00a0section, then\u00a0Payment terms<\/strong>.

        2. Click the term to delete.<\/li>\n
        3. In the top right, click\u00a0More actions -> Delete<\/strong>.

          Set the default term<\/h2>\n

          Only one payment term at a time is marked\u00a0Default<\/strong>. This term is applied automatically to every new contact and every new vendor bill, and can be changed manually on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n

          To change the default term:<\/p>\n

            \n
          1. In\u00a0Settings<\/strong>, go to the\u00a0Accounting<\/strong>\u00a0section, then\u00a0Payment terms<\/strong>.
            \n\"\"<\/li>\n
          2. Click the desired term.<\/li>\n
          3. In the top right, click\u00a0Edit<\/strong>, then activate the\u00a0Default toggle<\/strong>.
            \n\"\"<\/span><\/li>\n
          4. Click\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0in the top right when you have finished.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            The previous default term is automatically demoted. The change is recorded in the history of both terms.<\/p>\n

             <\/p>\n

            Sync from Zoho Books<\/h2>\n

            When the Zoho Books integration is enabled, the payment terms defined in Zoho Books are imported into ALIX. This action can be triggered manually at any time.<\/p>\n

              \n
            1. In\u00a0Settings<\/strong>, go to the\u00a0Accounting<\/strong>\u00a0section, then\u00a0Payment terms<\/strong><\/li>\n
            2. Click\u00a0More actions<\/strong>\u00a0in the top right, then select\u00a0Sync from Zoho Books<\/strong>.
              \n\"\"<\/li>\n
            3. Wait a few seconds for the synchronization to complete.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              Note<\/strong>: existing terms in ALIX that match a Zoho term (by identifier or by number of days) are updated. New Zoho terms are added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
