The custom unit allows selling an item in a unit different from its stock unit. This page describes how to apply or edit it on a sales order line.<\/p>\n

To set a default custom unit on an item, see the\u00a0Custom unit<\/strong>\u00a0section of the\u00a0Sale tab<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/p>\n

Note<\/strong>: it is impossible to apply or edit a custom unit if the sales order is no longer in\u00a0Draft<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Apply a custom unit to a line<\/h2>\n

Note<\/strong>: if the item has a default custom unit defined in its Sale tab, it is applied automatically to the line. Skip to the\u00a0Edit the custom unit of a line<\/a>\u00a0section to adjust the values.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

  1. From the menu on the left, choose\u00a0Sales -> Sales orders<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  2. Open the desired sales order, then click\u00a0Edit<\/strong>\u00a0in the top right.

  3. Select the desired line item, click More actions -> Apply a custom unit<\/strong>.

  4. In the window, fill in the fields:\n
      \n
    1. Unit<\/strong>: name of the unit (e.g. “box”).<\/li>\n
    2. Format<\/strong>: conversion factor to the stock unit (e.g. 150 for a 150-unit box).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    3. Click\u00a0Confirm<\/strong>.\n

      Edit the custom unit of a line<\/h2>\n

      As long as the sales order is in\u00a0Draft<\/strong>, you can edit the values of the custom unit applied to a line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
      Edit the format<\/td>\nEdit the value directly in the line item. The stock quantity and unit price are recalculated automatically.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
      Edit the unit<\/td>\nClick More actions<\/strong> on the top right of the line, then select Apply a custom unit<\/strong>\u00a0to reopen the window.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

      Custom unit display<\/h2>\n

      When a custom unit is applied to a line, it appears:<\/p>\n

      • In the sales order item grid (quantity and price in the custom unit).<\/li>\n
      • In the line item.<\/li>\n
      • On the sales order PDF (the line is displayed in the custom unit).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
