Inventory management is necessary to ensure that you can supply sales orders. It is possible to set up a manual reorder point for each item. With these configurations, the planning module allows you to have inventory recommendations to be produced or ordered. It is then possible to create purchase orders or manufacturing orders directly from the list of recommendations.
- From the menu on the left, choose Planning -> Planning, and then click Inventory at the top of the page.
- If desired, select the scope and the planning horizon, and then click the Run report button.
The default planning horizon can be configured in the settings.
- By pressing the chevron, you have an overview of the details of the planned consumption and production for the item.

The articles are ordered according to the recommendations. These are based on the reorder points of each item.
- Items to order or produce can be found at the top of the listing.
- Then there are the items whose level you need to monitor.
- Items with a suitable inventory level end up at the end.

Configure the default planning horizon #
It is possible to set a default planning horizon for the inventory planning module in the settings.
This number is the number of calendar days, not the number of working days.
- In Settings, choose Settings -> Configurations, then click Project.

- Enter the default number of days to consider for inventory planning.

- The information in this section is saved automatically.
Enter a manual recommendation #
The Manual recommendation column allows you to enter your own recommended quantity for an item, directly in the planning grid. This value is specific to your work session.
- Run the inventory planning report.

- Click in the Manual recommendation field of the desired line.

- Enter the desired quantity, then click the checkmark to save.

The value is displayed in the item’s unit of measure (e.g.: 25 lb).
To clear a manual recommendation, empty the field and click outside.
Note: Manual recommendations are reset each time the report is run. They do not affect manual recommendations entered by other users.
Note: When a manual recommendation is entered for an item, the purchase order and manufacturing order creation wizards use this value instead of the system-calculated recommendation. If no manual recommendation is entered, the calculated recommendation applies.
Export as Excel #
It is possible to export the inventory planning data in Excel format (.xlsx).
- Run the inventory planning report.

- Click More actions at the top of the grid, then select Export as Excel.

The exported file contains all visible columns in the grid, including the Manual recommendation column if values have been entered. The column headers are in the display language.
