The Inventory tab allows you to set the information that makes it easier to track and manage the inventory for that item.

- Target inventory: specifies the inventory to be used when receiving. To prevent it from ending automatically when it reaches zero, it is best to choose a bin-type inventory. Otherwise, you will need to review the target inventory manually. (Read more about bin type inventories here).
- Forces target inventory field to be mandatory in receipts: if this option is enabled and no target inventory is configured in the item, you will need to select one before completing the receipt.
- Location: corresponds to the location of the item in the warehouse. Any new inventory creation for this item will automatically use the selected location.
- Allow alternative items: replace this item with one of the items in the list when shipping or consuming.
- Customer consignment: allows this item to be used in consignment mode in a sales order, such as when the customer provides supplies components to complete the order. You can also set a specific customer to limit the use of this item to certain customers only.
- Expiration delay: allows you to set the expiration date that is automatically assigned to the inventory when it is created.
- Tare type: allows you to set the tare for the weight of the item.
- Printable: if enabled, inventory associated with this item will be printable.
- Create a scrap inventory: if enabled, scrapping an inventory for this item creates a new scrap inventory instead of simply deducting the scrap. Customizes the value defined in the Inventory configurations.
- Print scrap label: if enabled, when a scrap inventory is created for this item, an inventory label is automatically printed. Customizes the value defined in the Inventory configurations.
- Print label: allows you to select the label templates that can be used for inventories of this item.
- Default inventory condition for scrap: condition automatically applied when creating a scrap inventory for this item. Customizes the value defined in the Inventory configurations.
- Default scrap label: label pre-selected when printing a scrap label during production for this item (see Manage production scrap). This field is optional: if left empty, the scrap popup preselects the usual default label, the same as for standard production. Choosing a label that is not already in the Print label list (item 11) automatically adds it to that list. Conversely, if you remove from that list the label used as the scrap default, this field is automatically cleared.
