The Steps tab in a card is used to plan work time, equipment time and equipment used. The steps will be done when the card passes through the value streams.
Note: it is also possible to plan the steps in a production recipe directly in an article.
- + Add: Add a step. Learn more.
- Advanced planning: Enables advanced actions on steps such as reordering and duplicating. Learn more.
- Reranking: Change the order of the steps. Learn more.
- The names of the value streams and steps.
- Planned work time.
- Total lot size multiplied by planned work time.
- Planned equipment time.
- Total batch size multiplied by planned equipment time.
- Instruction file or technical drawing: click the icon to add.
- Workstation: Click the icon to add. The workstation determines the equipment that will be used. If the field is not completed, any equipment can be used.
- Checklist: Click the icon to add. Learn more.
- …: more actions on a step.
- Activate/Deactivate time multiplication with batch size.
- Activate/Deactivate card plit on step leave.
- Delete the step. Learn more.

Add a step #
When adding a step, it will be ordered according to the order defined in the value stream. If the order is changed in the value stream, all cards will be impacted, unless advanced planning is enabled.
Enable advanced planning #
Advanced planing allows you to reorder and duplicate steps. This feature is available on the ALIX version for medium business and above. To learn how to update the plan, click here.
Note: If you downgrade to the ALIX Small Business plan, cards with advanced planning will remain active. However, you will no longer be able to copy them.
Reorder the steps #
This feature is available when advanced planning is enabled.
Reorder the steps using the arrows on the left.
Duplicate a step #
This feature is available when advanced planning is enabled.
It is possible to add the same step several times. When advanced planning is enabled, steps remain available for addition, even when they’ve already been added.
Swapping a step #
It is possible to swap one step for another while retaining existing planning information (inventory production, consumption, time, etc.). Note that real time is deleted.
To swap a step, click …, then Swap.
Note: You cannot swap a step if it is in progress or in its waiting state.
Delete a step #
To delete a step, click …, then click Delete.
Note: It is not possible to delete the step if it is in progress or in its waiting step.
