Inventory conditions are used to distinguish between normal inventories and defective or verification inventories. By default, a new inventory is always in the Normal status, but it is possible to change it later.
Three inventory conditions are already created in ALIX:
| Normal | Default condition. Cannot be deleted or deactivated. Only the Name, Color and Icon fields can be edited. |
| Blocked for inspection | Can be edited, deleted or deactivated. |
| Quarantined | Can be edited, deleted or deactivated. |
Create/edit an inventory condition #
- In Settings, go to the Items section, then Inventory condition.
- Click Create inventory condition at the top right.

OR
Click the inventory condition to edit, then click Edit at the top right.

- Make your changes, then click Save.

Activate/deactivate an inventory condition #
An inventory condition can be activated or deactivated. If a condition is deactivated, the inventories that use it retain it, but it can no longer be assigned to new inventories.
- In Settings, go to the Items section, then Inventory conditions.
- Select the desired inventory condition, then click Activate/Deactivate at the top of the list.

OR
Click on the desired inventory condition, then click More Actions -> Activate/Deactivate at the top right.

Delete an inventory condition #
An inventory condition can only be deleted if it is not used by any inventory and if it is not referenced as Default inventory condition for scrap in the Inventory configurations or in an item’s Inventory tab.
- In Settings, go to the Items section, then Inventory conditions.
- Select the desired inventory condition, then click Delete at the top of the list.

OR - Click on the desired inventory condition, then click More Actions -> Delete at the top right.

View inventory condition #
To know the condition of an inventory, in the menu on the left, choose Inventories -> Inventories, then either:
- Check the Condition column in the inventory list.

- Click on the desired inventory, then view it at the top of the inventory window.

Change inventory condition #
- From the left menu, choose Inventories -> Inventories.

- Click on the desired inventory, then select the condition.

- Enter a comment for the condition change, then click Confirm.

Note: The comment entered can be viewed in the inventory History tab.
- When finished, exit by clicking the X in the top right. The information in this window is saved automatically.
Impact on planning #
For an inventory condition, if the Included in planning option is:
| Activated | Inventory with this condition is considered in the inventory planning report. |
| Deactivated | Inventory with this condition is not considered in the inventory planning report. |

For an inventory condition, if the Available for sale option is:
| Activated | Inventory with this condition can be reserved, sold, and shipped. |
| Deactivated | Inventory with this condition can be assigned to shipping, but cannot be reserved or shipped. |
