WiFi setup #
When first plugged in, the device immediately enters Wi-Fi Setup mode (see Status LED definition). In this mode, it operates as a captive portal, meaning it creates its own Wi-Fi network to allow configuration.
To configure the device:
- Connect to the alix-iiot-scale network with a mobile device or a computer (you may have to accept an information message such as “stay connected even without Internet access”).
- Once the connection is successful, the device will automatically redirect to the network configuration page.
If the configuration page does not appear, open an Internet browser and enter the following address: 192.168.4.1 .
- Select the target network (or enter the network name manually if it is hidden), enter the password, then click Save.
- The following page is displayed to confirm that the information has been received. After a few seconds, the status LED should indicate a connection in progress (see Status LED definition).
Status LED #
The device is equipped with a single multi-color LED to indicate its status.
Color | State |
---|---|
Fading blue (breathing) | Ready for Wi-Fi setup |
Solid red | Disconnected. Possible causes:
|
Flashing orange | Wi-Fi connected, ALIX disconnected. Possible causes:
|
Solid yellow | Successful connection to ALIX, invalid reading. Possible causes:
|
Solid green | Successfully connected to ALIX, stable reading (ready to send) |
Connection problem #
After the initial setup, the device remembers the information of the network it is connected to persistently, i.e., it is retained across reboots or power losses. If the connection fails, after one minute of reconnection attempts, the device will fall into Wi-Fi Setup mode (see Status LED definition).
Note: If it is a Wi-Fi network outage and the network information is not changed via the captive interface, the device will retain its last configuration and automatically reconnect when the network becomes available again.
